3x optical zoom
Very close up: The quality lens of the EX-Z1050 makes the 3x optical zoom possible. You simply get closer to the motif with the practical zoom rocker switch.

Auto Framing
Auto Framing means that your subject is always in focus – and in the centre of your picture. This puts an end to photos where the moving subject is too close to the edge of the picture, or where part of it has even been cut off. Simply select Auto Framing from the BEST SHOT scenarios, focus on the moving subject, and take the photo.

Rapid Flash
Do you want to take a photo in the dark and are unable to judge the right moment correctly? With the Rapid Flash function, three photos are taken with flash in the space of just one second, ensuring that you no longer miss those wonderful moments.
Various Flash
You can adapt the flash of the EXILIM Zoom EX-Z1050 to different situations. The following presets are available for this:

• Red Eye-Reduction: reduces the "red eye effect"
• Rapid Flash: three photos with flash in 1 second
• Soft Flash: for ideal illumination of the immediate area
• Auto: flash is switched on automatically when required
• On: flash always switched on
• Off: flash always switched off
Auto Macro function
Get closer! The Auto Macro function ensures sharpness in details or smaller settings. The EX-Z1050 has focussing ranges of between 10 and 50 cm in macro range, i.e. close range.

Highspeed continuous shooting
As standard: when you press and hold the release button, the EX-Z1050 takes a photo every second. With the super highspeed continuous shooting, up to seven photos* can be taken in the space of one second. The number of photos is limited only by the size of your memory card.
*Applies for normal picture quality and a resolution of 2 megapixels. Deviations are possible depending on the memory card used.
DIRECT ON function
Instant: Whilst other cameras are still moving the lens out, you will take the best photos and make the best films by far thanks to the DIRECT ON function. Your camera is ready to take photos at the press of a button – in only approx. 1,0 s*.

Anti Shake DSP
The Anti Shake DSP* is tucked away in the slim designer housing of the EX-Z1050, which reduces the danger of blurred photos if the camera is not held steadily or the motifs are moving. The Auto Macro function and the Quick Shutter take care in the meantime that your photos are correctly focussed.
* Electronic image and movie stabilizer

Quick Shutter

too late   okay
With moving subjects an autofocus must keep resetting itself – and this wastes time. The quick shutter turns the autofocus off when the shutter is immediately pushed down fully. The time between pressing the shutter and shooting starting is now only 0.006 seconds.*

*Flash off
RGB histogram
Colour control: The RGB-histogram displays the fractions of red, green and blue. So you have an overview of the colour components in your picture and can correct if required, by adjusting the diaphragm or using colour filters. The RGB-histogram is in addition to the black-and-white histogram, with which you can control the light/dark contrast of a motif.
Quick Response
How fast is really fast? The EXILIM Zoom EX-Z1050 has a shutter speed of 0.006 seconds* after successful focussing. Which means there is little that is fast enough to escape you!
*Flash off
too late   okay
9-Point Multi AF function
Entirely automatic: If you take photos using the multi-focus, the camera measures the distance from the motif with the 9-Point Multi AF function at nine different points and sets the right focusing range. In addition, all the measured areas are displayed simultaneously which were the object of the focussing procedure. This means that every picture is extremely crisply focused.
Auto Tracking AF function
Dogs running, kids jumping around, moving cars - there are countless examples of moving subjects, which can try the patience of even professional photographers. Thanks to the Auto Tracking AF function, you can relax and concentrate on the overall subject. The half-pressed release button sets the focus for saving, and the focus frame automatically follows the moving subject as long as the release button remains half-pressed - as soon as it is time to take the photo, simply "release"!
