The technology behind this feature recognises the size and contours of subjects when the shutter release button is pressed half way down and then automatically selects the optimum focus. All you have to do is relax and wait for the right moment, then press the shutter release button!

The outstanding image processing makes the skin on faces appear smoother and softens facial shadows caused by strong sunlight or illumination. You can select from twelve levels as desired – from minimum to maximum – and observe the effect on the TFT colour display while taking the photo. The EX-Z450 has a separate "Make-up Mode Button" to activate or de-activate the function quickly.
