The CCD-Chip of the EXILIM Card EX-S880 supplies a rich 8.1 million Pixels of full colour brilliance and focus. Such high resolution photos give you the advantage that you can print them out in excellent quality or edit them on the computer. This means that enlargement of details and poster size photos are possible.

Entirely automatic

If you take photos using the multi-focus, the camera measures the distance from the motif with the 9-Point Multi AF function at nine different points and sets the right focusing range. In addition, all the measured areas are displayed simultaneously which were the object of the focussing procedure. This means that every picture is extremely crisply focused.

Everything in view

Dogs running, kids jumping around, moving cars - there are countless examples of moving subjects, which can try the patience of even professional photographers. Thanks to the Auto Tracking AF function with motion analysis, you can relax and concentrate on the overall subject. Press the release button half way down, to fix the focus for saving - as soon as you see the picture you want, simply press release!

With this function you get two photos at the same time when you press the shutter release once - one complete image and a selected detail. The divided display not only enables you to view both images, but also the practical illustration makes it easier for you to select the detail of the image you require. The quality of this detail depends on the resolution which was preset.

The simple touch

Whether you're on holiday, at a party or spending time with your family - people are particularly popular subjects for a photo. It's always a pity when faces turn out blurred on a picture. The Face Detection function now offers the perfect solution, recognizing the individual faces or even entire groups, and automatically applying the best possible setting.

Faces in focus

The face-recognition function recognizes faces in the picture. Extremely clever: The face-recognition function can save up to 6 faces via a biometric mask. If several faces appear on a photo when taking a picture, the face recognition function focuses primarily on faces which have been saved previously in the family register. This enables you to set "preferences" for certain people when taking a photograph at family celebrations.

Simply practical

The Film Stabilisation function* can reduce the risk of filming scenes which are wobbly because the camera has not been held still. This function can stabilise unwanted movements, which often produces better pictures.

Problem detected

With flash shots the background often remains dark. The subject is only slightly lit. The solution: Flash Assist. With this function the subject can, in many cases, still be corrected automatically.

As standard

When you press and hold the release button, the EX-S880 takes a photo every second. With the super highspeed continuous shooting, up to 4 photos* can be taken in the space of one second. The number of photos is limited only by the size of your memory card.

With the Highspeed Image Scrolling function you can scroll through ten shots a second and thus find the right one quickly.

Questions on how it works?

Many of the EXILIM Card EX-S880 functions are all but self-explanatory. The Icon Help function stands for small, helpful flashes on the camera screen that tell you about the setting you have currently selected.

And this is how it works:
The 8.1 megapixel resolution is the key to an innovative solution. When the digital zoom is activated, images with resolutions from VGA up to a maximum of 6 megapixels can be stored in the central area of the CCD chip and projected by the relevant zoom factor, without any detail being lost. Depending on the resolution you choose, this lets you achieve a zoom factor of between 4.2x and 15.1x, and still keeps you close to the action.

How fast is really fast

The EXILIM Card EX-S880 has a shutter speed of 0.008 seconds* after successful focussing. Which means there is little that is fast enough to escape you!

Shoot photos faster

With moving subjects an autofocus must keep resetting itself - and this wastes time. The Quick Shutter turns the autofocus off when the shutter is immediately pushed down fully. The time between pressing the shutter and shooting starting is now only approx. 0.008 seconds*.

Do you want to take a photo in the dark and are unable to judge the right moment correctly? With the Rapid Flash function, three photos are taken with flash in the space of just one second, ensuring that you no longer miss those wonderful moments.

Say good-bye to long drawn-out scenes: in Short Movie mode, you can automatically film for up to 8 seconds as soon as you press the shutter release. When you combine several of these short movies together, you can create an interesting, enjoyable impression of the most beautiful places and events.

Were you too late pressing the shutter release? No problem because you can combine this mode with Past Movie if necessary - and even seconds which you have missed are automatically saved when you start your recording.

If you want, the camera can create a MOTION PRINT for every short movie.

An eye on the time

The Time Stamp function enables you to give your photos a "time stamp" so that you can always see at first glance when you took the photo.

Custom-made

With trimming you can define sections of a photo while they are still in the camera and save them as separate shots. And so, for example, you can just cut a person's face and print it out as a photo - even without a computer.

No computer needed

You can connect the EXILIM EX-S880 directly to a printer and have your pictures in your hand soon afterwards, printed on photo paper. USB Direct Print ist the standard EPSON printer. PictBridge connects your camera to different manufacturers' printers. Preset paper sizes help to select the right format.

Two points meet

The USB Docking Station is a flexible solution for a range of functions - such as the USB 2.0 connection to a computer, photo printer or battery charge. Thanks to the AV-connection, you can connect your EX-S880 simply and easily.

The flash for every situation

You can adapt the flash of the EXILIM Card EX-S880 to different situations. The following presets are available for this:

•	Rapid Flash: three photos with flash in 1 second

Clear view

The EX-S880 comes equipped with an extremely bright and wide 7.1 cm (2.8-inch) wide screen TFT colour display, which offers an even larger visual angle. It features 230,400 pixels and can thus allow a particularly brilliant display of your pictures. With approx. 1000 cd/m²* the display features above-average brightness and this means the user can view every motif very accurately, no matter how bright the sunlight.
