Due to the Hi-Zoom range, a quicker zoom speed is necessary from the wide-angle to the tele-zoom. But the slower zoom speed is also required for many exposure situations. With the two-level zoom, you can manage the speed with complete ease.

The "invisible" lens no longer zooms out of the camera, but is instead completely integrated in the elegant and compact housing. Action pictures in detail

Film and zoom at the same time - you don't need two cameras for this, just the EXILIM EX-V7. While recording a movie, just slide the zoom adjuster to the desired position - and you will immediately see your movies with up to 7x optical zoom.

Entirely automatic

If you take photos using the multi-focus, the camera measures the distance from the motif with the 9-Point Multi AF function at nine different points and sets the right focusing range. In addition, all the measured areas are displayed simultaneously which were the object of the focussing procedure. This means that every picture is extremely crisply focused.

Sharp photos despite darkness

AF-Assist light supports the autofocus system of your EX-V7 if it is dark.

Annoying

You photograph the most beautiful subjects and later discover that many images are shaky. This is exactly what is prevented by the Anti Shake DSP*.

Half pictures are a thing of the past

Auto Framing means that your subject is always in focus - and in the centre of your picture. Simply select the function under the BEST SHOT motif programmes, press the release button down halfway and your subject is already in focus! It is then immediately and automatically tracked by a frame that shows you exactly which picture section will later be visible in your photo*. Then just press the release button: your subject is perfectly in focus and in the centre of the picture.

The Auto Macro function ensures sharpness in details or smaller settings. The EX-V7 has focussing ranges of between 10 and 40 cm in macro range, i.e. close range.

Everything at your fingertips

Dogs running, kids jumping around, moving cars - there are countless examples of moving subjects, which can try the patience of even professional photographers. Thanks to the Auto Tracking AF function, you can relax and concentrate on the overall subject. The half-pressed release button sets the focus for saving, and the focus frame automatically follows the moving subject as long as the release button remains half-pressed - as soon as it is time to take the photo, simply "release"!

You don't have to be an expert to take great photos

From "landscape" to "portrait", from "night scenes" to a "retro" look - your EXILIM EX-V7 can be flexibly adjusted to all kinds of requirements. To automatically ensure that all pictures are a success, the super-flat digital camera has 33 photo and 10 movie presettings, for a variety of situations. BEST SHOT also allows you to quickly create and save your own settings, which you can access at any time.

As you like

Use the Button Customizer to assign one of five functions to the EXILIM EX-V7 cursor keys. Then you will have quick access to the Continuous Shooting, EV displacement, white balance, ISO setting, and self-timer.

Diary

The Calendar function offers a new way to store your photos. For each day that you have taken a picture, a photo is displayed as an example. In this way you can find pictures more easily or you can make a photo diary. At a glance you can see parts of what you experienced on vacation on that particular day.

New shine

Old photos suffer when subjected to excessively high temperatures, air humidity and ultraviolet rays. By photographing the pictures using the Colour Restoration function, yellowed or faded colours are analysed and automatically optimized, reviving your memories with a new sense of colour.

Up to date

Does the wrong date appear, because you have changed the settings without realizing it? Or was the time on the clock not adapted to the local time when travelling? The Date Edit function has the perfect solution to precisely these problems. The date and time can be corrected easily after the photo has been taken.

Shine anytime, anywhere

During the creation of the EXILIM EX-V7 particular focus was placed on the sophisticated design. The compact stainless steel housing is both high-quality and elegant, which gives the digital camera a completely unique appearance - so you can shine anywhere and anytime.

Digital picture frame

When your EX-V7 is in the docking station, you can choose to have the saved pictures appear in the display as a slideshow - if desired, you can even include animation at the transitions and background music.

The blink of an eye

While other cameras are still extending their lenses, you've already had plenty of time to take the best photos and films. Simply slide the mobile lens cover to the side - and in only approx. 1.2 seconds, the super-flat EX-V7 with its 7x optical inner zoom is ready to take pictures*.

Works quickly and provides great recording quality: the new EXILIM Engine 2.0. The extremely powerful image processor combines multiple components in a compact space, offering sufficient capacity for such features as the Auto Tracking AF function, hue adjustment to optimise dark areas, targeted noise elimination in critical colour areas and quick image processing.

And the new EXILIM Engine 2.0 also ensures quick reaction times and long battery operating times - and all of this naturally with very low energy consumption.

New perspectives

The EXILIM EX-V7 is equipped with an extremely bright 6.4 cm (2.5-inch) TFT colour display. It features 230.400 pixels and can thus allow a particularly brilliant display of your pictures. With approx. 1000 cd/m²* the display also features above average brightness, allowing the user to clearly view every subject, no matter how bright the ambient light. And to ensure that you have the best view in any situation, you can adjust the luminosity intensity as you wish to suit the individual lighting conditions. There are five default settings available for this purpose: 0/+1/+2/AUTO 1/AUTO 2

Simply practical

The Film Stabilisation function* can reduce the risk of filming scenes which are wobbly because the camera has not been held still. The function can compensate for undesirable "wobbles", which arise, for example, because of shaky hands - and often produces better films in this way.

Questions on how it works?

Many of the EXILIM Hi-Zoom EX-V7 functions are all but self-explanatory. The Icon Help function stands for small, helpful flashes on the camera screen that tell you about the setting you have currently selected.

Outstanding pictures

With the new, Mechanical CCD Shift technology, in conjunction with the Motion Analysis system and the Anti Shake DSP*, the risk of shaky photos is reduced to a minimum.

The CCD Shift system mechanically compensates for camera movements via a mobile image sensor. The Motion Analysis technology automatically analyses the speed and direction of a moving subject - ISO sensitivity and exposure time are then optimally adjusted as appropriate. The Anti Shake DSP* is the solution for electronically resolving the problem of picture blurriness caused by shaking hands or by the movement of the picture subject. And with the Film Stabilisation function*, there is a reduced risk of filming shaky scenes due to a wobbly camera grip.

And there you have it!

The innovative H.264 video encoding is tucked away in the EX-V7's stylish designer housing. The H.264 encoding lets you record high-resolution films with sound, and with the same amount of space on the memory card and the same image quality, up to 1.5 times longer than with the conventional MPEG-4* format.

The right lighting

It is not always possible to assess a fault in lighting before taking the picture. When the release button is pressed down halfway, the Lighting Warning is activated and automatically draws your attention to insufficient or excess lighting.

It's your choice

The EX-V7 can choose between SD/SDHC and MMC/MMCplus memory cards for storing your photos and films. You can now decide spontaneously and flexibly which of these cards (optional extras) to use.

As you like it: do you want to print out one single picture or would you prefer to combine several pictures to form a ready-to-print collage?

Clean cut

Cut your films whenever and wherever you like - without computer or complicated software. With the EXILIM EX-V7 you can edit your movies directly in the camera.

Films you have recorded can be enlarged up to 4.5x - without losing any of the details.

Camera

With the practical Movie Rotating function, you can record your films in both landscape and portrait format, rotate them as you wish* and then enjoy them in the digital camera display or in full format on the television.

The Non Deterioration Zoom gives the compact EX-V7 a huge 33.2x zoom factor*. Look forward to a whole new world of opportunities in pocket format!

And here is how it works:
The 7.2 Megapixel resolution makes it possible to use a sophisticated method: a small area at the edge of the CCD chip is "switched off". The picture in the middle of the chip is now enlarged. This turns the 7x optical inner zoom into a 10.5x equivalent zoom - and the resolution remains at its high level of 3 megapixels. With a VGA resolution, you can even obtain a huge zoom factor of 33.2* - to get even closer to the action.

Getting the right angle

Pictures taken in a portrait format can be manually rotated for playback in landscape format. Now you don't have to turn the camera or your head in order to look at the picture.

How fast is really fast

The EXILIM Hi-Zoom EX-V7 has a shutter speed of 0.008 seconds* after successful focussing. Which means there is little that is fast enough to escape you!

Shoot photos faster

With moving subjects an autofocus must keep resetting itself - and this wastes time. The Quick Shutter turns the autofocus off when the shutter is immediately pushed down fully. The time between pressing the shutter and shooting starting is now only approx. 0.008 seconds.*

Don't miss a thing

Do you want to take a photo in the dark and are unable to judge the right moment correctly? With the Rapid Flash function, three photos are taken with flash in the space of just one second, ensuring that you no longer miss those wonderful moments.

Lights

This practical function allows you to record films even in weak light - the recording light illuminates your subject. Versatile: when photographing in a dark environment, the LED of the Recording Light functions as an AF auxiliary light, and as a time signal for the self-timer.

New from old

If you photograph the contents of your old photograph album with the Revive Shot function, yellowed and pale colours are automatically refreshed and the photos are revived for a new and long life in digital form.

Colour control

The RGB histogram displays the fractions of red, green and blue. So you have an overview of the colour components in your picture and can correct if required, by adjusting the diaphragm or using colour filters. The RGB-histogram is in addition to the black-and-white histogram, with which you can control the light/dark contrast of a motif.

Miss absolutely nothing

Say good-bye to long drawn-out scenes: in Short Movie mode, you can automatically film for up to 8 seconds as soon as you press the shutter release. When you combine several of these short movies together, you can create an interesting, enjoyable impression of the most beautiful places and events.

Were you too late pressing the shutter release? No problem because you can combine this mode with Past Movie if necessary - and even seconds which you have missed are automatically saved when you start your recording.

If you want, the camera can create a MOTION PRINT for every short movie.

Extreme Power

Empty batteries are history. Thanks to new technologies, the EXILIM Hi-Zoom EX-V7 uses much less energy, but at the same time have the extremely powerful Super Life Battery. An eye on the time

The Time Stamp function enables you to give your photos a "time stamp" so that you can always see at first glance when you took the photo.

Everything under control

To obtain optimal results, the brightness and contrast of pictures are automatically corrected using the tone value control.

Custom-made

With Re-Size/Trimming you can change the size of the picture already in the camera and sections of a picture can be saved as its own shot. In this way, you can for example cut out only the face of a person and have it printed as a photo without using a computer or complicated software.

No computer needed

You can connect the EXILIM Hi-Zoom EX-V7 directly to various printers and have your pictures in your hand shortly afterwards printed on photo paper. USB Direct Print ist the standard EPSON printer. PictBridge connects your camera to different manufacturers' printers. Preset paper sizes help to select the right format.

Two points meet

The USB Docking Station is a flexible solution for a range of functions - such as the USB 2.0 connection to a computer, photo printer or battery charge. Thanks to the AV-connection, you can connect your EX-V7 simply and easily.

You can now have a genuinely cinematic experience with your digital camera

The Wide Movie Shooting function also allows you to shoot films in the 16:9 Wide Screen format with 848 x 480 pixels. This way you can watch your movies in full Wide Screen format on a plasma or LCD television, for example.
